I first met Andy Stelten on the putting green at Spotswood CC when I was 14 years old.  At the time, I was a 12 HCP, looking forward to my high school golf career.  After a few tips from Andy one evening at the Short Game area, I found some clarity in my chipping.  I started working with Andy soon after, both practicing on the range and playing on the course.

After just one summer with Andy as my coach, I dropped my HCP to a 3.  I continued to work with Andy throughout my High School career at EMHS, eventually accomplishing my goal of winning an Individual State Championship, and then the ODAC Freshman of the Year at Hampden-Sydney College.  I highly recommend practicing and playing with Andy to gain a proper understanding of the golf swing, your unique golf swing, and how to practice properly and with a purpose.  He brings a lot of credibility to the table as a great player, but I believe he is a better coach.  I firmly believe that it takes a great player to make one.

This past summer Andy caddied for me in the VA State Am / State Open qualifier.  It wasn’t exactly pretty out there and I kinda struggled in the middle of the round but somehow pulled it out in the end with a 73 to qualify for both the VA State Amateur and the VA State Open.  I have to thank my friend and coach for keeping my head on straight and giving me some good numbers.  Andy can help you with your swing and more importantly help you think your way around the golf course better.  Having a coach who can really play the game and relates things to simple "athletic feels" makes all the difference for me.  It can for you too.

Coming from a soccer background I've always been an athlete.  But with golf, I wish I had started taking lessons earlier if I had known it would make this much sense and be this helpful.  I look forward to working with Andy in 2023 and changing my game for the better.

As a long time avid golfer, I enjoy spending time on-course with Andy as we play 9-Holes from time to time.  He is able to assess my game quickly and give me simple fundamentals to focus on as we play.  It always helps.  I highly recommend playing with the pro.
